Teaching Section Dahl, William [1], Brown, Beverly J. [2]. WWW.BOTANY.ORG - An educational tool promoting plants, botanists and serving the mission of the BSA: Making it work for you. Did you realize that there are over 2,000 images on the BSA website? How about the fact that each links to a members work, including plant-related educational information? Did you know that you can search the American Journal of Botany archives on www.botany.org? Plant Science Bulletin? How about the fact that we have only five BSA educational resources available for K-12 teachers (but that we are piloting a major educational initiative, Scientific Inquiry through Plants "BSA Sci-π")? All this creates opportunities for you as a member in getting your work and materials noticed as well as offering opportunties to support and serve the Society. The Botanical Society of America exists to promote botany, the field of basic science dealing with the study and inquiry into the form, function, development, diversity, reproduction, evolution, and uses of plants and their interactions within the biosphere (that is our mission). Two of the main objectives of The Society are to: sustain and provide improved formal and informal education about plants; encourage basic plant research. Come and hear how the BSA website is designed to promote botany and your work. Hear how you can assist the Society and support our broader educational objectives. From images to archives, educational resources to BSA Sci-π, you can play a role in connecting people to plants and help us meet our mission. Log in to add this item to your schedule
