Economic Botany Section Mansoor, Arsala [1], Malghani, M.A.K. [2]. Diuretic Affect of Gentiana oliveri and its Alkaloid Gentianine. Ethanolic and aqueous extract of Gentiana olivieri and its pure alkaloid gentianine, were tested for diuretic activity. All three fractions given orally enhances considerably ion excretion in rats to a level comparable to that obtained with furoseamide, with aqueous extract to be the most effective.
